1. Testing out the front facing camera on my new phone.

Got me a sweet Galaxy Nexus.  The photos from the front-facing camera are better than some phones’ main camera.  Love love love it, even more than the Galaxy Note I had a little while ago.

I have spent the last few months trying out a slew of phones from iPhone to Galaxy Note to some of HTC’s offerings.  My conclusion is that the Galaxy Nexus is the best phone out there today.  Even though the body is plastic, it’s still a solid piece of machinery.  That was the problem with the Galaxy Note, which I previously thought was the best: great technology but the physical qualities made it feel just a smidge too much like a cheap toy.

I wanted to try the Samsung Galaxy S III but anything Samsung has branded hard is always hampered by their need to ram the OS full of a bunch of their proprietary stuff like their own Samsung Kies app store, a social management app that replaces the native People app that comes with with Android, and some new robot that’s supposed to compete with Apple’s Siri.  Skip the phones that Samsung promotes heavily and get the ones that Google pushes really hard for the best and most pure Android experience.
